About Alpha Omega Academy

Alpha Omega Publications (AOP) established Alpha Omega Academy in 1992 as an additional service to those families who wanted their children to learn at home, but enjoyed the teaching and support of an educational institution. Initially, a mail correspondence program servicing grades K-8 and using the LIFEPAC work text curriculum was created. Grades 9-12 were added later.

In 1997, AOP introduced the Switched-On Schoolhouse (SOS) multimedia curriculum. The following year, it created Alpha Omega Academy Online to allow students the support of an academy with the educational power of SOS. The SOS computer-based program grew quickly, servicing grades 3-12.

The two Academy programs were developed separately and operated independently of each other for several years. Eventually the two Academy programs were integrated into one distance education school, enrolling students with their choice of either LIFEPAC or SOS curriculum, or even a combination of both.

In January 2004, the Academy achieved a milestone with full accreditation by CITA (Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation) in conjunction with NCA CASI (North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement). Accreditation by CITA and NCA CASI has assured countless parents that Alpha Omega Academy is a distance learning institution that commands respect across the nation. AdvancED, the world's largest educational community with over 23,000 public and private schools, is now the parent organization for CITA and NCA CASI.

With its proven track record, AOA has enrolled thousands of students in the United States and overseas. The Academy provides a flexible yet structured program, customized to meet the needs of each student. Our qualified teachers, counselors, and support staff are here to help you succeed in providing a quality education for your student.
