| STUDENT-CENTERED SERVICE |
By enrolling a student, you enter into a powerful partnership with Alpha Omega Academy. Your role as parent/guardian is to provide the physical school environment (including adult supervision) necessary for your student, to stay aware of your student’s coursework and progress with the Academy, and to communicate with Academy staff as needed to ensure a successful year. The Academy provides academic support for the student in several ways.
Grading and text messaging.
The Academy will place your student in a class for each course that is supervised by a teacher qualified to teach that subject. (Elementary students may have the same teacher for all subjects.) In Switched-On Schoolhouse classes, the SOS Teacher will grade student assignments and answer student questions using the message system and the problem notepads in the program. Tests and projects for LIFEPAC courses will also be graded by qualified teachers.
Telephone support
Students and parents are also able to place toll-free phone calls to the Academy’s on-site teachers. Students receive 60 minutes of free telephone support for every course they enroll in – a student enrolled in 5 courses starts with a total of 300 minutes that he or she can use to talk to a teacher in any department. These teachers are available to provide academic support from 8:00 am until 4:30 pm CST. Additional phone time may be purchased.
