This agreement provides information pertaining to the responsibilities of parents while enrolled with Alpha Omega Academy.
As the parent/guardian of a student enrolled with Alpha Omega Academy, I understand and agree to the following.
1. I acknowledge that the Academy’s curriculum is written from a Bible-centered, Christian worldview in accordance with the Academy’s statement of faith.
2. I understand that it is my responsibility to meet all applicable local and state educational laws and requirements. I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to select the course of study needed to meet any applicable graduation requirements in my state.
3. I understand that I am the coordinator, communicator, and supervisor. I will motivate my student to follow and complete the course of study assigned.
4. I will review the Academy orientation materials, the parent/student handbook, and the
academic program guides. I will abide by all policies and procedures therein.
5. I understand that every student in grades 7-12 is responsible for the information presented in the
Plagiarism Orientation project. I accept full responsibility for reviewing the Plagiarism Orientation Project with my student and providing instruction in how to avoid plagiarism.
6. I understand that the work my student submits to the Academy must be his/hers solely. Tests and quizzes must be completed by the student independent of any other resources (e.g., answer keys, lesson text, “coaching,” etc.).
7. I will submit work on a regular basis to allow for ongoing oversight by Academy staff. For students using LIFEPAC or Horizons, tests need to be submitted to the Academy every three to four weeks and
quarterly reports need to be submitted to the Academy when each quarter is complete. For SOS courses that use the synchronization process, students need to synchronize before and after coursework each day they work.
8. I understand that the academic year is considered to be 180 school days (approximately nine calendar months), but if necessary, twelve calendar months are allowed to complete one school year’s coursework.
9. I understand that the Academy reserves the right to cancel enrollment at any time due to non-payment of fees, program abuse, or failure to follow Academy procedures.
10. I have read and understand the
cancellation and refund policy. If I choose to cancel or withdraw my student, I must notify the Academy in writing or by e-mail.
11. I am aware that the Academy may change polices and procedures as needed. These changes will be announced on the Academy e-newsletter called
AOA Today and/or the Academy Reference Center.
12. I agree to read the Orientation documents prior to speaking with a counselor or reenrollment.
13. I understand that the Academy e-newsletter,
AOA Today, is the primary means of Academy communication to parents and students, and that I will be automatically subscribed using the email address I have provided to AOA. I agree to stay subscribed as long as my student is enrolled with the Academy.
Nondiscriminatory Policy
Alpha Omega Academy admits students of any race, ethnic origin, gender, or nationality. The academy does not discriminate in employment opportunities or practices on the basis or race, ethnic origin, gender, creed, nationality, age, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law.
