After a little research and valuable advice from a friend, Samantha Russell enrolled at Alpha Omega Academy®. Two years later, Samantha would agree with her friend that making the switch to AOA's distance learning program was the best educational choice she has ever made.

A junior who currently resides in the Bahamas, Samantha was raised by her grandmother, who taught her a Christian worldview and helped mold her into the person she is today. Samantha chose AOA because she did not believe in evolution, and her family wanted her to study at home with a Christ-centered curriculum.

As a hardworking, inquisitive, and focused student, Samantha realized she couldn't study at home alone. With the help of her grandmother and the teachers at AOA, she has been able to push forward toward her educational goals.

"Samantha keeps asking questions even after the assignment is completed," said Mr. Heino. "Her quest for knowledge and understanding seems to epitomize everything a good student should be."

"Whenever I see some of Samantha's work waiting to be graded," agreed Mrs. Brouwer, "I can't help but smile and think, ‘This is going to be rewarding.'"

When Samantha isn't busy studying, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She also enjoys swimming, reading, listening to music, and horseback riding. After she graduates in 2011, she plans to attend a university in Florida with the goal of becoming a marine biologist or a vet technician.
