In her three years at Alpha Omega Academy® (AOA), seventh grade student Brianna Stornetta has made a positive impression on her teachers as a hardworking and determined student. "With her polite and cheery demeanor, it is a joy to talk to her," said Mrs. Schonhardt. "Her attitude is inspirational."

Brianna uses Alpha Omega Publications' Switched-On Schoolhouse® (SOS) curriculum because she enjoys the interactive aspect of the schoolwork. She also appreciates the flexibility and variety of SOS that make every day different. In addition, Brianna has benefited from the strong support of her teachers at AOA. "From her very first day, she has always felt like her teachers were there to help and encourage her," said Denise Stornetta, Brianna's mother. Brianna also likes to spend time meeting friends on the AOA Student Center.

In her spare time, Brianna volunteers at her church by giving moms a hand with their children. She also treasures her relationships with her family members. She loves to shop with her big sister, Brittany, watch a movie with her mom, a box of tissues, and a snack on rainy days, and make tracks on her ATV with her dad. According to her, the muddier she gets, the better! She also enjoys riding her horses, Kate and Bullseye, and showing them in horse shows. In fact, she considers her trainer, Maria, an adopted big sister.

Throughout Brianna's life, she has been forced to deal with significant challenges, including frequent trips to the doctor and lab tests. "Brianna was born very prematurely with several heart conditions, which led to heart surgery three years ago," said Denise.

However, her medical condition has not prevented her from achieving her educational goals. In fact, this past year she completed two years of work! "Brianna knows that no matter how difficult catching up may be, God will give her the strength to keep going," said Denise. "Brianna has given it all to God and continues to move forward. She is a witness to all of us. She stays focused in the Word and prayer. We are so proud of her."
