The study of cells in 5th grade science can be a challenge. Project: Pond Water brings these abstract concepts to life with a hands-on way to experience one-celled organisms.
By collecting and examining a sample of pond water under a microscope, students can see which one-celled creatures thrive in their area. For students completing the project when available water is frozen, or for students in locations without sitting water, a video is included. For most students, though, Project: Pond Water offers an opportunity for a field trip in the great outdoors.

I saw three organisms. - Were you able to identify those that you saw?
I was able to identify a euglena, an amoeba and a lot of algae. - Did you see anything that you were not able to identify?
