Spark excitement! Physics explores the science of motion in God's world. In this course, students look at topics such as kinematics, dynamics, work and energy, introduction to waves, and light in the first semester. In the second semester, topics in this course from our online academy include static electricity, electrical currents, magnetism, and atomic and nuclear physics.

In this course from our online academy, students learn through lessons and experiments that display the behavior of motion. Experiments include balancing a straw, circular motion, simple machines, waves and wave speeds, convergence, light angles, and more. In-depth lesson topics include electric charges, fluid flow, field forces, speed of light, heat energy, gravity, and vectors. Each unit of the course contains quizzes and a test to evaluate progress and student mastery.

Additional Details

Taking Algebra II concurrently or prior to physics is recommended. Materials are required to complete the labs in this course. The academy recommends Home Science Tools as an excellent resource for purchasing these specialized materials. Product codes are included with certain items to help parents purchase the correct materials from Home Science Tools. A minimum of two-thirds of the projects must be completed for this course to be considered a laboratory science (college preparatory).
