David Bauman — Principal
As someone able to design and build his own home from the ground up, David Bauman, principal of Alpha Omega Academy, knows how to organize and keep a distance learning academy running smoothly. With over 30 years of experience in individualized education and teaching, David is more than qualified to meet the needs of AOA's students and families.
David's day-to-day responsibilities resemble the typical demands of any K-12 principal. When asked what aspect of his work day he enjoys most, David responded, "Greeting a terrific team of Christian teachers as they come to work in the morning."
Born into a Colorado farm family, David spent his boyhood summers working on his grandfather's farm. When David was ten years old, his father moved their family to Farmington, New Mexico, where his father founded a church and served as its pastor for the next 32 years. Throughout David's life, his father's Christian influence played a tremendous role in shaping his character. David said, "My father was a man of impeccable character and courage. He loved God and tried hard to influence me, his only son, in the right direction."
Growing up in Colorado's beauty, David learned to love the outdoors and physical exercise. Today, David daily rides his bicycle to work – rain or shine. His dream vacation would include hiking through the alps of New Zealand, hang gliding, or bicycling through the British isles.
Whether working as a distance learning academy school principal or enjoying the great outdoors, David lives his life motto found in Ecclesiastes 9:10a: "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might." With God's will as David's chief aim, he hopes to be remembered as a person who did the best he could in causes that actually mattered.
