Lisa Kooima — Academy Services Representative
Work is fun when you love your job as much as Lisa Kooima. As an Academy Services Representative at Alpha Omega Academy, Lisa enrolls distance learning students, sets up their classes, and checks on their progress monthly. "I enjoy getting to meet new people over the phone and helping students become successful in their distance learning program," Lisa shared. Lisa would also love to personally meet the parents with whom she speaks in order to put faces to their names.
Born and raised in northwest Iowa, Lisa grew up in a Christian family that openly shared its faith and regularly attended church. Laughing, Lisa said, "We went to church any time the doors were open." Lisa remembers regularly reading the Bible before and after each meal and attending a Christian school through her 8th grade education. Her father's godly influence and example taught her what being a true Christian meant, and eventually she attended a Bible college and graduated with a degree in biblical studies.
Spontaneous, animated, and empathetic, Lisa believes in "doing unto others as you would have them do unto you." Living and learning from each of life's experiences, she prays that her own family and the families of AOA's distance learning students will remember her as someone who cared and showed the love of God.
