A popular time of year for vacations, summer can also be a great time to take distance learners on field trips. Even if school is out for the summer, that doesn't mean learning has to cease. Yet hurdles such as time, budget, proximity, and more can prevent distance learning families from making the trek to some valuable educational destinations.
When physical travel isn't a possibility, virtual field trips can help your distance learner experience far-off places in a fun, interactive way. Online resources provide low-cost, often free, opportunities for your student, or even your whole family, to study a wide range of topics that are tied to locations around the world.
