Alpha Omega Academy (AOA), a private, K-12 online school, has received accreditation from the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). In tandem with the school’s existing AdvancED accreditation, the designation reflects AOA’s commitment to providing a high-quality, Christ-centered education.
The accreditation process required AOA to conduct self-assessments and undergo peer reviews, which evaluated the school’s success in fulfilling its mission and meeting academic standards established by the international school community.
“As an ACSI-approved provider, Alpha Omega Academy is able to demonstrate to students and schools alike that our curriculum is up to the highest standards and aligned with the values families hold dear,” said Julia Ellis, principal at AOA. “We are grateful to have ACSI as a partner in education, and we look forward to continuing to strive for excellence in education.”
Comprised of peers with similar expertise, the accreditation team from ACSI adhered to a step-by-step process to determine AOA’s ability to garner accreditation. After validating AOA’s self-study report and confirming the school is true to its mission, the ACSI team evaluated the school’s compliance to accreditation standards. They determined an appropriate improvement process, ultimately leading to the recommendation that the school receive accreditation through the body’s national commission.
“AOA has a highly skilled, dedicated staff, and the care and support they offer their students and families is evident,” said Stephen Deck, academic services manager for ACSI. “We are pleased to welcome AOA into our network and are optimistic this accreditation will bring continuous benefits to the school and its students alike.”
ACSI finds students graduating from accredited Christian schools qualify for admission to most colleges and universities, and their credits transfer between schools nationally and internationally. The organization also requires accredited schools to undergo a continuous process of self-assessment, designed to result in increased student achievement.
