This fall the AOA school counseling department launched Counselor Café, a meet up for students to ask the school counselors questions related to academics, personal growth, college planning, career exploration, and more. Created as a relaxed, informal time where students can ask questions, get answers, and gather resources, Counselor Café is different from our typical online classes. From Monday, December 23 through January 1, 2020, AOA will celebrate the holiday season. During this time, there will be no scheduled academic bookings, and the academic support line will be closed.
While teachers will still be checking your work and responding to voicemails or direct messages in your coursework during this period, it will be on a reduced schedule for the holidays. In addition, no teachers will be available at all from December 24-25 and December 31-January 1. AOA will also close at noon (CT) on Monday, December 23. [Read more…]

The November 2019 student of the month is Renee Davis, a senior at Alpha Omega Academy who lives near the Ridge-and-Valley Appalachians of Virginia and is filling in as the president of AOA’s Cooking Club.
“Renee is a Straight A student in Spanish all the way through level 3,” said Ms. Monique Escobedo, who nominated Renee for November’s honor of student of the month. “She has also taken great initiative as the Cooking Club’s new president. She created a new logo, monitors the Student Center page without being asked, created a PowerPoint for our first meeting, and coordinated with Blue Umbrella staff for club marketing.” [Read more…]
The October 2019 student of the month is Christian Barlow, a seventh grade student who lives along Florida’s Gulf Coast. A student with sensory processing disorder, Christian is excelling in his first year of online learning at Alpha Omega Academy.
“He is a very enthusiastic learner,” wrote Mrs. Heather Sinnett, who nominated Christian for this month’s honor. “He paces ahead and keeps his grades up. He also likes to visit with teachers and his advisor, showing good communication skills at a young age, and he has great study skills.” [Read more…]

Welcome to the 2019-20 school year! We have much to be excited and thankful for as we enter the fall. At Alpha Omega Academy, we hope to challenge and inspire all learners to succeed through our school and, as a result, impact the world for the sake of God’s glory. We want to encourage all students to deepen their faith, pursue knowledge, cultivate character, and ultimately be released as servant leaders into the world. As a school, we value and are motivated to present education through a biblical worldview, so students understand that all knowledge reveals God’s truth and character for us as His children.
This past summer, teachers went through intensive training to refine their biblical integration skills, and administrators developed processes and systems to help students become more successful. As a school, we want to be intentional about shaping a Christian worldview and help train children in the ways they should go. [Read more…]
