As an elementary teacher, Christine Johnson works with 3rd graders at Alpha Omega Academy to ensure they understand new concepts in their coursework.
“As a teacher I want to encourage the students to excel and press on even when it is challenging,” Johnson said.
Her previous experience in education includes a position as a lead preschool teacher. Johnson serves as a Sunday school instructor for kindergarten at her church. She has known about the academy for years and used the curriculum to homeschool her own children.
Johnson lives in Prescott Valley, Arizona, with her husband of more than 20 years and their three children. Her family is active in their church, serving in different areas. Johnson said she devoted her life to Christ at the age of 10.
“Through the seasons of my life I have walked very close and other times drifted some, but I know there is no place I would rather be than in His hands,” she said of her faith walk.
In a city that’s more than a mile high, Johnson enjoys the opportunity to see the Milky Way and watch shooting stars at night. Some of her favorite things include Mexican food, reading, and the movie The Princess Bride. Her most treasured possession, excluding family, is the first Bible her husband ever gave her, which is filled with cherished notes.
Johnson’s favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11: “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'”
