A 1997 graduate of Central Washington University and a 2018 graduate of Northcentral University, Meg Funk teaches English at Alpha Omega Academy. She covers concepts ranging from poetry and literature to grammar and writing in her online courses. One of Funk’s favorite topics to discuss with students is literature, and she loves working with students from around the world.
“My favorite times teaching have always involved explaining a troublesome concept and watching or hearing someone grasp the idea,” Funk said. “I always visualize a light bulb going off over someone’s head when this happens.”
Since she began teaching, Funk has worked primarily with students in grades 7-11 in literature, writing, and Bible. She has also studied Latin and taught a beginners course on the language for four years.
As a mother, Funk stays busy with her two teenage sons who she also homeschools part-time. Funk enjoys writing in her free time and has a self-published book titled Fred Meets the Snarrfles. If she could meet anyone in the world, Funk would choose author Madeline Le’Engle for a long chat.
