Driven by a passion for teaching young children, Pam Holland has dedicated her professional career to elementary education and holds the position of lead elementary teacher at AOA. Inspired by her kindergarten teacher who was the first to suggest she pursue a position in education, Holland holds a degree in elementary education with a pre-primary specialty. Her previous positions included working with students in preschool through 8th grade in the three states where she has lived.
Holland loves working at AOA because of the energetic staff and loves interacting with students around the country and world to help them meet their educational goals. “I love to see the eyes of a child light up when they have learned something new,” Holland said. “It is one of the best rewards you can get as a teacher.”
With a family (including her brothers and mother) in medicine, Holland said if she was ever going to pursue a different field, it would be nursing or pediatric medicine. Her favorite hobbies include gardening, golf, community theatre, reading, and spending time with her family. Holland and her husband Keith are the parents of three daughters and a son. She lives her life by a quote from Eleanor Roosevelt: “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift…that’s why they call it the present.”
Holland said her greatest possession is her love of Jesus and her ability to share that love with others. She would like to be remembered as someone filled with kindness and generosity who always continued to use the talents God has given her to encourage and inspire others.
