Bible teacher Roy Williams began teaching at Alpha Omega Academy in 2010. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in Bible and theology, a master of divinity degree in biblical interpretation and exposition, a master of arts degree in church history, and a doctor of philosophy degree in historical theology: reformation and post-reformation studies.
“My training thoroughly prepares me to assist students enrolled in courses that address biblical, theological, historical, and ethical topics,” Williams said. “Although my expertise is in church history and historical theology, the strong foundation of biblical studies in my undergraduate and seminary training and additional course work in systematic theology and ethics throughout my academic experience equips me to assist students in a broad range of Bible courses.”
Currently, Williams teaches Bible for grades 7-12, as well as a few middle school history courses.
“I enjoy answering students’ questions about lesson content,” Williams said. “I have felt most fulfilled in my position when I have had an opportunity to pray with a student or parent.”
Williams was born in St. Cloud, Minnesota. His interests are church history, historical theology, New Testament studies, and online education. He lives in a suburb of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and he is also a member of Thornapple Evangelical Covenant Church.
Williams enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He also enjoys biking and hiking.
