BA Religion (Luther Rice Seminary)
I was born and raised in Utrecht, the Netherlands. I am currently living in Knoxville, TN, with my beautiful bride, Elizabeth, and we have a wonderful daughter named Holland and a boy named Xander.
Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–His good, pleasing, and perfect will.” This verse hits hard, as in this day and age, it is very easy to be swayed by the ways of the world, and as Christians, our citizenship is in heaven, not on Earth. We are to be ambassadors for God on Earth. We shouldn’t get so comfortable in this world that we want to live like the rest of the world does. We are to transform by reading, meditating, and studying the Word of God.
My very first job was cleaning a cabinet shop. The sawdust never ended. I was literally sneezing out sawdust all the time!
I am a self-professed nerd. I love playing tabletop board games like Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, and more. I love to read. A few of my favorites are the Bible, The Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Screwtape Letters, A Requiem for Love, Out of the Silent Planet, The Pilgrims Progress, and Desiring God. I also love swimming, well actually I love waterparks! Although not an athlete, I do love watching the more extreme sports like snowboarding and surfing. I also enjoy the arts like drawing. I love taking trips to the lake, but most of all, I love every moment I get to be with my family.
Bucket List Item
I want to go skydiving again, and I want to go bungee jumping off the Youngs High Bridge in Kentucky.
I have been on countless mission trips seeing many beautiful places. I love traveling, so this is a tough one, but I would say my favorite place I have traveled to is Germany. It is such an incredibly beautiful country with amazing castles everywhere you look. The people are wonderful as well.
