In her role as an English teacher at Alpha Omega Academy, Jamie Quinn guides students through their English courses, while assisting as needed, providing feedback, and assessing written work. Her previous experience in education includes teaching middle and high school English courses, middle school science, and GED preparatory classes, as well as working as a library media specialist. She has also taught English to students in China, and she homeschools one of her own children.
“I enjoy interacting with my students the most,” Quinn said. “It is especially rewarding to witness a student make a connection with a piece of literature, recognize understanding of a new concept, or admit to having fun while learning!”
As a child raised in Mississippi, Quinn enjoyed riding horses, dancing, and participating in gymnastics. Self-described as loyal, easy-going, and fun, Quinn today enjoys spending time with her 4 children (particularly at the baseball field), reading, and crafting. Some of her favorites are chocolate, baseball, dancing, Pinterest, Finding Nemo, and the beach. Someday, she hopes to visit all 50 states, and she listed Walt Disney as a historical figure she would love to meet.
“I admire innovative ideas,” she said. “It would be great to spend time with him in Disney World!”
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6).
