A part-time English teacher at Alpha Omega Academy, Jennifer Yarnell currently teaches classes for grades 9-11. With two decades of experience in education, Yarnell brings a love of learning, teaching, and an extensive knowledge of literature and writing to share with AOA students.
Yarnell lives on a farm in Ohio with her husband and three children. Together, they raise Nigerian Dwarf goats, chickens, quail, and Great Pyrenees and hope to add cattle to the menagerie soon. She is an avid reader and gardener and homeschools her own kids.
Self-described as diplomatic, industrious, and creative, Yarnell lists Scrabble as her best sport, although she also enjoys swimming, baseball, and volleyball. In addition, Yarnell says she could eat mashed potatoes every day, and she views the book of Job in the Bible as a great reminder on how to stay faithful.
“Every day I try to live as a disciple,” she said, “and every day is a struggle and a success in that endeavor!”
