BA Secondary Social Studies Education
I was born and raised in the Midwest, and I love being outdoors. In the past, I helped out on the farms of my uncle and brother, and I still have a true love for animals. I now live in northwest Iowa. I’m married to a farmer and enjoy helping him with hog chores and especially with harvest in the fall. In my spare time, I enjoy playing with my two kids (a son and daughter) and my pets.
John 11:35. “Jesus wept.” It is the shortest verse in the Bible, but it carries a huge lesson. Jesus wept after speaking with Lazarus’s sisters about his death. Even though Jesus went there knowing he was going to raise Lazarus back to life, he still felt the emotional pain that death causes and had compassion on the mourners that also were feeling that same pain. If you ever doubt that God is able to relate to your situation, this verse reminds you that He feels what you feel, even when He knows that His plan is to fix it!
Mowing for my dad. I couldn’t even reach the clutch pedal yet, so I had to stand up every time I needed to shift to a different gear or stop!
I like to read, work with animals, and do pretty much any task I can come up with outdoors.
Bucket List Item
My top two are to see Israel and do a ‘footsteps of Jesus’ type of tour and do an African safari, hopefully with my father.
I have been blessed to have visited several parts of the world in my life. They are so hard to compare because of how different they are! I would say Hawaii was the most relaxing, Guatemala and El Salvador were the most rewarding, and a tour of Spain, Great Britain, and France was the most interesting and educational. I do really love castles.
Person I’d Like to Meet
Donald Trump. I feel like he would be the most bluntly honest person able to answer the question of what it is really like to be president of the United States.
