As an education coordinator at Alpha Omega Academy who is fluent in English and Spanish, Ruby Chavira works directly with families to determine strategies that will help students succeed and to provide regular updates on each student’s academic progress.
“I really enjoy talking to families and letting them know how their student is doing because I truly want to see the students succeed,” Chavira said. “I enjoy talking with my families and learning about them, as well.”
Family is something that has always been important to Chavira. As a result, she can often be found spending time with relatives. Born and raised in Texas, Chavira has fond memories of visiting San Antonio’s Six Flags amusement park with her family as a child. Today she enjoys taking nature walks with her own daughter to help her discover new things.
Chavira’s other hobbies include cooking and spending time outdoors. Her favorite food is sushi, and her favorite song at the moment is Eye of the Storm by Ryan Stevenson. Someday she would like to go skydiving. The four words Chavira would use to describe herself are kind, caring, down-to-earth, and genuine.
