An English teacher at Alpha Omega Academy, Wendy Sheets helps students navigate their curriculum, providing support and encouragement and teaching specific lessons when necessary.
“I like to see students take the bait of suggestion and turn it around into an understanding of the lesson and curriculum,” Sheet said. “Speaking to students about their efforts has been very fulfilling.”
Sheets holds a bachelor of arts degree in English literature from Vanguard University of Southern California, as well as a master’s of arts degree in educational administration and a master’s of arts in library media technology from Azusa Pacific University. With over 20 years in education across several institutions, she has taught middle and high school English/language arts and introductory college courses.
A busy mom of 7, Sheets has three adult children, one high schooler, one middle schooler, one elementary student, and one very busy 4 year old. She and her husband have been worship pastors, and they continue to serve in their church. She said she loves stories of redemption and change, knowing that God works through sorrow and pain to produce joy and triumph.
Self-described as persistent, determined, and loyal, Sheets also enjoys traveling and hopes to perhaps climb to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. If she could meet anyone, she would’ve liked to have met her dad’s parents, since she never met them.
“I had a phenomenal relationship with my maternal grandparents and would like to know more of my dad’s influencers,” she said.
