The second semester of this course from our online academy entails elements of nonfiction, American drama, the American novel, research, and cumulative review unit. Major works read in this course are To Kill a Mockingbird and Our Town. Elements of nonfiction, journaling, and documentation are also examined.
Topics in this course from our online academy include dictionary usage, verbals and clauses, pronoun references and agreement, modifiers, parallel structure, prefixes and roots, and poetry structure. Students analyze American drama and complete projects that include essays and a research paper with MLA documentation. Each unit of the course contains quizzes and a test to evaluate progress and student mastery.
The research project in unit 9 is considered so essential to a student’s future achievement that a student will not receive credit for the second semester without successfully completing it.
