Essentials of communication shows students in grades 9-12 how to successfully interact with others in personal, professional, and public settings. Topics in this one-semester, online academy elective include communication foundations, perception influences, characteristics of language such as verbal and non-verbal communication, listening barriers, and interpersonal relationships.
Perfect for filling graduation requirements, this course from our online academy continues with valuable lessons on communication etiquette, job interview preparation, group dynamics, leadership styles, and public speaking. Practical application exercises allow students to practice skills such as writing a speech and presenting it, conducting interviews, or attending local community meetings. The LIFEPAC course varies in format from other LIFEPAC courses. At the end of each LIFEPAC, two biblical connection projects are included. These projects are a required part of this course and must be completed and checked by the parent, and verification forms must be returned for each quarter with student and parent signatures.
